Join us for Ascent’s annual bouldering competition featuring three categories: Recreational, Intermediate, and Advanced. Top competitors in advanced battling it out on the boards for cash prizes.

All skill levels welcome. Ages 12+

SCHEDULE & PRICING

Two Competition Sessions

Two redpoint-format bouldering rounds & advanced category qualifier.

Early Session

$40/member, $50/non-member

  • 9:15am: Check in begins

  • 9:50am: Rule overview

  • 10am-1pm: Compete

Late Session

$55/member, $65/non-member

  • 1:15 pm : Check in begins

  • 1:50pm: Rule overview

  • 2pm-5pm: Compete

Recreational & Intermediate Awards

  • Approx 5:30pm

  • Top 3 in each recreational & intermediate category compete for prizes from Ascent and our sponsors, including: climbing equipment and crashpads.

Advanced Category Finals - Starts 6pm

  • 6pm: Finals start

  • Top 6 climbers in each advanced category from the qualifier sessions.

  • Finalists compete for $1800 cash purse.

There will be a finals party including Food Truck, Drinks, and good times.
Spectators welcome.

  • There will be two division: men/nonbinary and women/nonbinary and three categories for each division.

    • Recreational: V0-V3

    • Intermediate: V4-V6

    • Advanced: V7+

  • This is a redpoint competition, meaning you can try routes multiple times. You will have 3 hours to compete in the session you sign up for: AM or PM. You will record which climbs you complete and how many attempts it takes you to send.

    There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for each category for both divisions.

    Winners for each division in Novice and Intermediate will be announced before the Finals, at approx 5:30pm.

    Top 6 advanced for both women/nonbinary and men/nonbinary will compete in a finals on the boards for a cash prize.

  • The top 6 for both divisions of the advanced category will compete in a finals on the boards for a cash purse:

    • 1st place: $500

    • 2nd place: $250

    • 3rd place: $125

    Men/Nonbinary division will be competing on the Decoy Board. The finals climbs are being set by Dan Yagmin and Isaiah LaGrand.

    Women/Nonbinary division will be competing on the Kilter Board. The finals climb will be set by TBD.

    Format:

    • 3 finals climbs and 1 tie breaker if necessary

    • 2 competitors per division out at a time.

    • 4 minutes on, 4 minutes off. 30 sec switch time.

    • Scoring Heiarchy: Tops, Attempts, Time

  • Check back April 1st for the routesetting schedule for that week. There will be limited bouldering as the week goes on getting closer to Saturday, April 26th.
