BIPOC Climb Nights at Ascent are Here!

Practice fundamental skills for climbing outside with instruction from an AMGA certified instructor. You’ll get hands on practice with the equipment skills necessary to climb routes equipped with bolted anchors.

You’ll learn:

• Essential materials, knots, & hitches

• Common anchor methods for fixed hardware

• How to clean anchors - transition to lowering

This clinic is an excellent introduction to the exciting world of sport climbing.

Recommended Prerequisites

• Experience climbing ropes (inside or outside)

• Top rope belaying and lead belaying

Curious about what goes into creating a route?

This is a 1 day clinic where you will learn the fundamentals and principles of routesetting. The routes set in the clinic will stay up for 1 week before being stripped down. This is also the beginning of an ongoing program we are developing so members, who take this clinic, can put up a route every couple months.

At this time only open to members.

Our head routesetter, Jen Chmiel will email participants a week before with a more detailed schedule and what to expect/bring.

• Prior Experience: 6 months of climbing experience, climbs v2+. No routesetting experience required.

• Date: Saturday, June 22nd
  9am-3pm

• Schedule: The clinic is broken into 2 parts: a morning section and afternoon session with a 30 minute lunch break in the middle.

• Max 6 participants

• Price: $80/member

• Age: 16+ years old
