Weekly Challenges
Each week, a unique Wednesday night challenge (6:00–8:30 PM) offers teams bonus points for a separate prize. Challenges vary in physicality, skill, or chance.
How the League Works
The league runs year-round in 5-week sections, with teams consisting of 2 climbers. Each week, climbers earn points by climbing in the gym, submitting scorecards between Wednesday and the following Tuesday. Individual scores contribute to the team’s total.
Week 1:
In week one, climbers climb at their best to determine their handicap tier, which remains unless they improve enough to change tiers or leave the league.
Week 2 to 4:
Scores will be recorded, and teams will be graded accordingly. No further changes will be made for the remainder of the competition.
Week 5:
On the last Wednesday of the league, the last 30 minutes will be taken to tally up points and determine the winners. That means only 2 hours of climbing. The award ceremony and celebration will then commence.
Weekly Zone Rotation
Each week will force climbers to focus on different sections of the gym. Make sure to look at each week’s climbing zone and be prepared to be challenged by a variety of wall angles and climbing styles!
Scoring
Climbers earn points weekly, and the team with the highest total at the season’s end is crowned Climbing League Champions. In case of a tie, the winner is determined by the team's overall attempt average.
(Sum of team scores) DIVIDED BY (Number of team members) = Total Team Score
To ensure fairness, a handicap system will adjust scores based on each climber’s ability, determined in week one. This system levels the playing field, giving all teams a fair chance to win. Team size will not impact overall scoring.
V-MAX Calculation: Grade that can be completed within 3 attempts.
Each week, a QR code at the front desk links to the score sheet (Google Form). Climbers must submit honest entries, and scores will be calculated and posted weekly.
