ELM CITY SHOWDOWN - 2025 RECAP

On April 26, we welcomed more than 120 climbers for the Elm City Showdown, our annual spring bouldering competition and community celebration.

Climbers of all levels came together for two qualifier rounds, with the top 6 competitors in each division advancing to a finals round to compete for a $2,200 cash purse and prizes.

Competitions can feel intimidating, but the heart of this event is about more than podiums—it’s about cheering each other on, pushing personal limits, and celebrating a shared love of climbing. We’re grateful to everyone who came out to climb or watch — and share the stoke and camaraderie.

ROUTESETTING

Huge thanks to our amazing route-setting team, whose creativity and hard work made the event so much fun—and so challenging! Competition routes will stay up on the wall for everyone to try. Our setters will begin to fill in around the comp-set to restore our walls to their typical route density and grade distribution. Enjoy!

ONSIGHT FINAL ROUND

Sponsored by G Cafe & Bakery.

The top 6 male, female and non-binary climbers moved on to a 3 problem onsight finals round. M’s and non-binary competed on the Decoy Board and the W’s and non-binary division on the Kilter Board for a $2,200 cash purse.

The finals climbs are now live for everyone to try! Simply search for Ascent Comp or Ascent Finals in the apps to load them up on the boards and give them a try.

THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS

And to our generous sponsors: thank you for making the day a success and for supporting our climbing community. Special gratitude to G Cafe Bakery for sponsoring our finals event and providing endless free bread, coffee and pastry for our competitors.
