Julie Bailis is a seasoned coach and powerlifter with over a decade of experience helping people get stronger, feel better, and move with confidence—regardless of age or starting point.
As Head of Coaching and Programming at Ascent, she leads a team committed to helping everyday people train with purpose, avoid injury, and build real-life strength that lasts.
With certifications in personal training, health coaching, nutrition, and women’s health, Julie blends science-backed programming with empathy and real-life experience.
She specializes in coaching the “everyday athlete”—people who want to feel strong in their bodies, avoid injury, age well, and follow a plan that works for their life, regardless of their starting point in fitness.
Julie placed 2nd at USPA Nationals in Las Vegas in 2023 and currently holds four Connecticut state records in her age and weight class. She brings the same focus and enthusiasm she brings to competition into her coaching—helping clients train smarter and feel more empowered every step of the way.
Outside the gym, Julie enjoys training for powerlifting meets, competing in Strongman events, hiking local trails, climbing, cycling along the shoreline, and catching live music in New Haven.
